“The Garden of Good”
Savannah, GA Vacation Rental
The “Garden of Good” is a play on words from the 1994 novel and subsequent 1997 movie, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, that was filmed in Savannah, and you’ll find subtle nods to this within this carriage house.
While many short-term rentals in Savannah are renovated with brand-new wood floors and drywall covering historic brick, we have tried to truly preserve the history of the space. The original brick, as well as the original floors (sanded and refinished, of course), take your breath away. Old meets new is, quite literally, the expression of this rental! Every time I go in there, I can feel the lingering presence of the horseman who called this space home, as well as the countless individuals who have traversed its floors.

Reviews
While Google reviews are great (and we have those, too), I love the authenticity of handwritten notes from our guests!

Location
The Garden of Good is our carriage house and is accessed via our newly renovated courtyard. Our home, on gorgeous Gaston St., places you one block from Forsyth Park, within the historic district, and walking distance to all there is to see in Savannah.

History
The Garden of Good is most likely where the horse driver or groomsman resided in the 1800s. Upon entering the garage, you will notice cobblestone flooring, as well as some long patches of concrete, which appears to be where the horse stalls were located.

Amenities
Within this studio-sized space, you have everything you could ever need - a full kitchen, modern shower, a place to eat or work, as well as a sitting area to watch television or read. But why would you? You are in Savannah!
-
Courtyard
Unlike many rentals in Savannah, you have full access to the courtyard, and what a lovely space it is! After a day of walking and sight-seeing, there is something very calming about sitting in this tranquil haven just listening to the fountain or sitting in the swings!

Experience
As opposed to merely providing a space to rest your head, a place to cook and shower, etc, we opted to create an inviting atmosphere that will be as memorable as your walks through our historic city. More details can be found on our “Upscale Amenity Experience” page.

Authentic Decor
We want this space to be authentic in every way possible, and yet it needs to feel updated and modern. To do that, we sourced our linens, kitchen wares, etc from both high-end stores, such as CB2, Anthropologie, and Crate & Barrel, as well as local antique markets, to truly represent old meets new.
This is the most charming space! With the original Savannah-gray brick walls, original wood floors, modern amenities, luxurious bedding and mattress, and amazing location, you can't go wrong! And never mind the history!
Your bed is comprised of a luxurious mattress, hotel-grade linens, and both firm and soft pillows.
