Books on Bay
Before we moved here, we had been visiting Savannah for at least ten years, and we never even knew this little store existed. We stumbled across it recently — purely by accident — and it is super charming if you’re remotely interested in old, antique books. It’s definitely worth a visit if you’re downtown.

Urban Poppy
One of the things I love about this store is the fact that it sells flowers, and sometimes they offer a really unusual variety. Even in a rental or hotel room, isn’t it nice to have fresh foliage?! Which is why we have plants in our rentals😉 Besides flowers, they have a unique selection of gifts for the home.

The Paris Market
If you want to momentarily step into Paris to grab a gift or have a coffee, this is your place. This place is a little bit of everything Parisian with southern flair.

Savannah Bee Company
You’ve probably seen some of their products in your hometown, but walking through their flagship store is still a treat! From honey samples on actual honeycomb to sampling various lotions and mead, the Savannah Bee Company is always worth a visit.

One Fish Two Fish
Being from New Orleans, Whitaker St. reminds me a bit of Magazine St, which means it has a lot of cute little shops — one of which is One Fish Two Fish. It is a home goods store, where you’re certain to find something to return home with! In addition to decor, there are also handbags, rugs, lighting, etc. Lots to look at.

Asher & Rye
I love, love, love this store. It’s one of those places where everything inside looks so expertly curated, making you think, “Man, this leather-handled shovel is going to revamp my whole garden!” They recently added a coffee shop, too, but I haven’t tried it yet! Lots of unique but functional home goods, furniture, baby/toddler stuff, and more.

The Gift Shoppe by Polka Dots
This is a small store right next to the Marshall House hotel on Broughton, and, despite its size, has a cute collection of things.

Capital Bee Co.
Okay, they have THE BEST cheese straws. Ever. Being from New Orleans, I’ve eaten my share of them, but I’m telling you that these are some of the best. In addition to this delicacy, there are tons of great gifts in here — from dog collars to art to jewelry to tea towels, and more.

Locally Made Savannah
This is a rather new store, and it strictly carries items that are made my local Savannahians. While a lot of shops around here carry some things made locally, this store has a more extensive selection, if that’s what you’re looking for.

The Spice & Tea Exchange
So, this is a chain, but it’s a great place to check out if you haven’t been to one before. They carry an excellent assortment of spices, as well as unique combinations that you don’t find in a grocery store. If you like to cook, it’s definitely worth a visit.

River Street Marketplace
I highly recommend a walk through this open-air marketplace on River St. Similar to Locally Made Savannah, there are a ton of local vendors selling their wares, as well as random things from other parts of the country/world. The owner will tell you, too, that the eastern side of the marketplace is haunted by Florence Martus and her dog (Florence Martus is the “Waving Girl,” whose statue is a little further down the riverwalk headed east.)

Savannah Gallery of Art
Lots of paintings in here by local artists, as well as photography, mixed media, sculptures, etc. It’s not a huge place, but it’s worthing walking through if you’re looking for art that is locally made.

Nourish: Natural Bath Products
This is a great locally-owned little shop on Broughton (also with a location on River St.) if you’re looking for all-natural bath products. A lot of their stuff also makes for a great gift.

Planet Fun
So, this isn’t much to look at from the outside, but it’s a quirky toy store that steps back in time. Comic books, retro gaming systems, antique figurines from decades ago, and more. Young and old enjoy walking through.
